The fete continues

My excuse for the blur is that I was a bit blurred by this point. What a great evening - well night! We didn't get the dessert till 1am! This is the norm - the first course wasn't served till 10pm! A great time was had by all. Such ambience. Everyone dances, alone, together, partners, old, young, traditional French waltzing, line dancing, modern, jive it all happens. At some point the women, all ages (a few men) get up and do this amazing line dancing and we always comment 'when and where do they practise this?!!!!' Is this what they do in the dark winter nights in rural France?!

And dress code? Well cocktail dresses, high heels, trainers, cargo shorts, charleston dresses, denims, long, short, nearly non-existent! The real beauty of this event is that you come as you are and you do what you want and people accept you just for who you are. I absolutely love it.

The man in the middle of the picture is the oldest man in the village.

And today there is a huge brocante in the village and we bought a large old bureau - just waiting for it to be delivered. And there was moules frites in the local hall at lunchtime - we gave that a miss! Early night I think.
