At Worlds end

Well, not really, but the latest Simon Pegg film At Worlds End, was filmed in and around Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire.

We drove down to Hertfordshire this morning for the weekend of Gail's Mum's Funeral, to be held tomorrow. The family is spread far and wide, with members coming in from Wales, Ireland, Norway, Germany and Argentina.

As it was a glorious afternoon, I took Mike for a walk around my old home town, showed him the house I was brought up in, and some of the wonderful art-deco architecture. The old council offices, the Broadway cinema (now a multiplex) and the library. I was reading one of my Dad's old books of Letchworth a couple of weeks ago (1950s), which described the buildings here as "...these modern buildings ..."

Still think they're pretty impressive though.
