"HEY LOOK ME OVER, LEND ME AN EAR-FRESH OUT OF CL"
What a day it has been. The sunshine was slow to appear but when it did, wow!! We had decided to walk over to our next village called Monksilver. It is about 3 miles away, up over the hill through narrow lanes with usually no traffic. It was fresh with a lovely breeze. I have seen Speckled Wood butterflies, a superb capture. Wonderful views over towards Wales, fantastic capture. Through the wooded area, we call Little Austria, amazing capture with Mr A and Phoebe. In fact I have been spoilt for choice.
But the above it had to be. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at The Notley Arms in Monksilver. Recently taken over with new owners, and sat in the garden because of Phoebes. We heard this strange sound, and it was an old bus, just like Bertie Bus in Thomas the Tank Engine and it was full of wedding guests on their way to a lovely village wedding. The garden was then full of wedding guests all in their finery on their way up the road to the little village church.
We started the long road back, knowing we had to be back in time to support Ben & Alfie, (still on You tube - After the Noise), and if you haven't checked it out yet, you're missing a treat. We passed a gate crowded over with cows. Being naturally curious, Phoebe was keen to go and check them out. She jumped back as they all panicked and went into stampede mode. So Mr A led her slightly away from the gate and this is the scene above. Do we, or dont we?!!
They were obviously quite young, wanted to come over but nervous. It was so funny, you could feel the tension in the air.
We got back just in time to change and left Phoebe exhausted. Her little legs have never had to walk so far. Ben & Alfie were amazing, so laid back and the audience loved them. We met friends there who came back for Pimms and nibbles. We had met a lovely lass called Sarah Joy at the afternoon concert, and it turned out she was singing later at 9.30 in the pub skittle alley. So we went to support her. And wow - wonderful self - penned songs, full of emotion and such power in her voice. She was very well received and having just moved to this area, hope she will do well.
So we have heard just about everykind of music in this small village this weekend. It has been a great success - where do we go from here!!
Thankyou for 'looking in' at my day and hope it has been entertaining. May tomorrow go well for you whatever you are doing. Have a good night's sleep and until we 'meet' again, stay healthy.
