Painterly flowers

We went to Sissinghurst castle today, in Kent, to enjoy the sunshine and flowers.

I was really taken with how these flowers looked with the sun on them - I thought they looked rather painterly, and they have come out better than I had expected!

Sissinghurst was home to Vita Sackville-West and her husband from 1930 onwards. They rescued the house which was dilapidated, and transformed the garden.

PS still back-blipping from my holiday. My latest additions are a starred agama lizard, a gorgeous little kitten, and a Tesco rip-off.
