Kulusuk - East Greenland
We have flown 1.5 hours west from Reykjavik to East Greenland. Kulusuk is a tiny community of Innuit living in a very remote village perched on the rocks. Whilst the village has very basic facilities we are privileged to be staying in the Hotel Kulusuk down the road which has the facilities we are so used to that are not present in these idyllic looking cabins - running water, flush toilets and a varied diet of fresh food.
However, the scenery here is seriously impressive. Deep fjords carve the 1000m mountains which are adorned with permanent ice and glaciers. Icebergs dot the bay and wander south along the coast. More in the following blips:
