Bright Red breast signaling winters approach

If yesterdays storm did nothing more then clean the paths then it also heralded the start of autumn. I awoke to bright sunshine and a cold so got up and went out with my camera. I took various shots of my garden of the sun on the grass, the trees and was walking round looking for something special when I found him looking back at me.

I know they live all year round in my garden, and I know he is a frequent visitor to the food I put out. He was watching me and watching the ground below his tree, I only had eyes for him. After taking several shots and even getting closer he finally flew away. The grass then moved at the foot of the tree and one of my cats strolled out. You can see his head is cocked and he is the classic Cock Robin.

I know its colder (bought myself a fleece) and winter is coming but this was a timely reminder that winter isn't bad just colder.
