Porty People and Places

Here are some of the Anansi Dance Troupe putting into movement the beat and rhythm of their excellent accompanying band on Portobello Prom this afternoon.
They were part of a mile of music making that was taking place all afternoon in what has become known as The Big Beach Busk. Last year's event was washed out by the wind and rain. Despite the sunshine there was a stiff westerly breeze and the temperatures a few degrees down on what we have become used to this summer. This, however, did not detract from hundreds of people coming to the beach to enjoy the performances from every age and almost every musical genre too. A great place to be this afternoon. Well done Portobello for enabling such a free and entertaining event to take place and congratulations to the excellent Anansi team for being one of the afternoon's highlights for so many of us.
