The Blow Hole
We awoke to a glorious sunny day and bright blue sky. After bacon butties sat on the sea wall, which is at the end of the garden, we walked around the headland. It took no time at all to get to the Blow Hole where we used to play as children - although I remember it as a long trek when I was a seven year old.
Here we jumped around from rock to rock and then continued on to the White Lady where we started thinking up categories for our photography competition for the week. Each of us chose two categories and so far we have: reflections, up, seven, shadow/silhouettes, boats, action, animals (non-human life forms) and 'summary of the week'.
You can see Beewriter's fantastic photographs from the week here.
The boys enjoyed clambering on rocks, looking for driftwood for the boat-building competition, and poking around in rock pools. Later we walked back to the beach, had our picnic and then dived into the sea, played ball games, ate ice-cream, got sand everywhere and even managed to burn ourselves a bit in the sunshine.
In the evening we went to Cemlyn nature reserve where we used to go with our parents when our grandparents had a house at Cemaes Bay, many years ago. We piled up stones and then had competitions to knock them down before going home and sleeping very soundly with the sound of the waves at the end of the garden.
