Herb garden and arbour
The herb garden inside the ruins of the Priory (in Priory Park, Dudley) is looking good (though some weeding needed already!). In the background you can see the progress on the roof of the arbour.
The formal opening event for the improvements to the park is due on 20 September, so although there is still quite a lot to do before then, it looks as though it really will be complete by then. Many thanks to the Heritage Lottery Fund for financing all this work, which is much appreciated by the majority of the users of the park (actually, even the vandals probably appreciate it too, as they can wreak even more mindless destruction than before). I think I might also give a mention to the Friends of Priory Park (FoPP) for the huge amount of work they did to raise awareness of the importance of the park, and the leading role they played in getting HLF funding.
A major change of subject tomorrow!
