What a very sad day.....

It started off so well with a lovely trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park but, this evening brought with it the demise of our wonderful and much loved cat - Pesto. It has been a very distressing few hours but now he is peacefully asleep. It seems he had a sudden thromboembolism which paralysed his back legs and he was clearly in a great deal of pain. I heard him crying for help outside my bedroom window so we got to him pretty quickly and took him to the PDSA hospital in Bradford where they diagnosed immediately and put him out of his misery in a very dignified way. Thank goodness it happened when we were here and within earshot.

He was almost exactly 13 years old and, until this evening, was as fit as a fiddle! He was very special to all four of us - we shall miss him terribly.
