Miss August
My magnificent 7 subscribers know I'm not a regular here. In fact my pal BrodieB commented, can't wait to see August's entry, making me realise I'm only good for one blip a month. Pathetic.
However, not wanting to sully an already pitiful record, I took the camera on the morning dog walk. Lily Blue has been with us 4 months now. She's a happy, more confident dog, and a complete joy. Hopefully her health issues have been resolved; she's put on some weight. Lily loves her house and garden, and greets everyone she meets, human and canine, with a waggy tail and a doggy smile.
It was over two years ago that Henny and I first debated whether or not to adopt a dog. We wanted a rescue dog, so we looked at photos on the refuge website. We each picked 7. When we compared our lists, there was not one dog in common. Mine were all hunting-types, the long ears, as they're known at the refuge. Henny's were black shepherd-crosses. I campaigned for pointers and braques; Henny wanted the standy-up ears. When Lily's picture was posted, that was it for me. Love at first sight. All credit to Henny for acquiescing and adopting a French hunting hound. The very best is, now we both adore our Lily Blue. And thankfully, Pou and Lily seem to have worked it out between them.
See you next month.
In the meantime, I post here more frequently http://littlefrenchhouse.blogspot.com
