His claws
were clipped yesterday, at long last.
Steve takes Jasper into the treatment room and holds him while the deed is done, while I sit in the waiting room trying not to listen to each clip, accompanied by Jasper's heavy breathing and two soothing voices, one Catalan and one English. His claws are very tough and take some clipping and Steve said that the vet had a bit of difficulty with one or two of them. Maybe they need to sharpen their clippers.
We never had the problem of the long claws when we lived in the UK, I think the concrete paving stones wore them down. But here I mainly walk Jasper along tracks, and even if I do a good section of the walk along the main road it seems to make no difference to his claws. So he'll have to suffer the vet doing it, and I've made another appointment for about five weeks time.
