Hair & Make-up

Eldest has a full dress rehearsal and first performance of Swan Lake today so we had to get her hair & make-up done before leaving her at the theatre. I've got the hang of her bun now after years of ballet and all the rehearsals over the last few weeks, but the make-up was a challenge. I haven't worn make-up for years and when I did it was only a bit of lipstick and eyeshadow - I have never used foundation so that in itself was a challenge to get it even and blended in especially as they have to use a darker shade than their skin tone for the stage. The eyebrow pencil, mascara and eyeliner on a wriggly 10 year old who is also not used to it was interesting. Got there in the end though and hope it will meet the exacting standards of the English Youth Ballet.
