When I picked her up from school today she had grass in her hair and her hands were filthy. I asked her what happened and she said "me and Adam had a grass fight with the meanies, who were being mean to Adam". I texted Adam's mum and after putting together both his and Orla's stories, it seems that what happened was two boys were chasing Adam in the playground, knocked him over and sat on him. Orla and another boy came to "rescue" him and Orla picked up a big pile of cut grass and threw it at the "meanies". A grass fight ensued, with lots of other children joining in on both sides (she demonstrated what they were doing, her grass throwing would appear to be very energetic). Of course, I told her that next time she should really tell a teacher or a playground monitor, that fighting is not good and she should never start a fight. But we also told her that we were very proud of her for sticking up for her friend.
