Evening watch

Just a pigeon, sitting on our roof at about six o'clock this evening, watching, waiting for the dark clouds to bring a shower of rain.
This summer, I have felt quite benevolent towards these birds, as they are gentle, slow, ponderous, non-threatening to smaller birds, coo peacefully, and come down for little snacks of bird food on the ground.
There are not too many of them, so we haven't thought about putting them in a pie (pie in the sky!).
Not brightly coloured, but just a pinkish tone here and there.
Just a pigeon.
