DAY TRIP TO CAMBRIDGE

We went to Cambridge today and had a punt trip down the river Cam. Many of the colleges back onto the river and it is a good way to take in the old architecture and have the history told as you are drifting past.

We then went to the Fitzwilliam Museum where we saw a fascinating exhibition on the Origins of the Afro Comb. The display included hundreds of combs from pre-dynastic Egypt to modern day black fist combs referencing the Black Power Movement - as well as images and sculpture showing the wide variety of hairstyles found in Africa and around the world.
We had lunch in the museum and then a general walk around Cambridge city.
