Festivals
The Edinburgh festivals are almost over for another year and the pavements and roads can be reclaimed by the locals. Apart from the normal tourists, Edinburgh has been visited by thousands of people intent on enjoying the Tattoo and various festivals including the Jazz, Film, Book, Fringe, Mela and official International Festivals. There have been some marvellous events, street entertainers and displays of craft and talent. Now that the Fringe which is the largest arts festival in the world with over 45,000 performances and nearly 3,000 shows excluding over 700 free shows is over, the place seems quiet. After the Firework Concert on Sunday evening life will return to normal for most. It was good while it lasted but it’s good to have the relative peace again.
