Mont Saint Michel

What an amazing day out. The gorgeous Lewis family who drove an hour and a half to meet us. We divvied up boys and girls. The boys set off after lunch (giant picnic, amazing potato salad) to walk the mudflats from the mount and around Tourmelaine, then back again. Waded a river, created quicksand, sunk in quicksand, generally got very muddy, walked miles and ran a lot. Us girls went for a dire cup of tea in a crazy roadside cafe, did a few tatoos and then headed into the mount. Walked across the causeway, cheering horses, with the girls both wedged in the same buggy stuffing themselves with an XL bag of crisps. A stroll around, a crowd-pleasing shuttle bus back and icecream and coffee and bunches in the cafe afterwards. good chat, good times. Then another great picnic and a very late drive home. So very, very nice to see them in France and we surely have to do it again soon.
