A Day In The Black Mountains
Today me and the family headed up to the Black Mountains in Powys which was just over an hours drive away. First we headed to the village of Talgarth and in particular the Mill there which was shown being restored on the BBC last year. I have always wanted to go since watching the programme so today was to be the day.
It is indeed well worth a visit, particularly the cafe which sells all locally made produce which is very yummy. And of course the bread is made on site which is just delish. You can read all about the mill here.
After enjoying a yummy lunch we headed up through the country lanes and over the Hay Bluff to the wonderful Llanthony Priory.
It is a wonderful place to visit and I cannot understand why we've never been before!
It even has a pub in the cellar there and you couldn't pick a nicer setting to enjoy a pint!
This pic is one of the many I took of the priory
