Jarlshof

A mixure of weathers today. Rain early on, sunny warms spells of sunshine in the afternoon with mist coming and going.
A day off work today. I was planning a day of cleaning the house but that plans soon changed when the rain stopped early :)
Off I went down to the south end of Shetland and to Sumburgh Head to begin with. No Puffins left and not many other birds around, just hope they all return next year and rebuild the populations.
Next stop was at Jarlshof. Been a while since I was last there and forgot how great the site is. 4000 years of history is one site :) It contains remains dating from 2500 BC up to the 17th century AD. Wheelhouses, roundhouses, a broch, Viking longhouses and a Lairds house too and much more :)
