Tortoiseshell Butterfly

This little visitor found it's way into the house this morning and was dangerously close to one of our spider webs. Not to worry though, the window was opened and out it went into the garden.

Some very fine rain early this morning, then cloudy and warm - perfect weather for a spot of gardening. I tipped some compost from one bin into another, cut back some roses and continued with the big clear up of the small garden at the front. Plenty of butterflies and bees about, the weather is very pleasant.

Sat in the garden with various cups of tea, lunch and dinner but this evening the cloud has thickened and it has turned quite dark even though it's only early evening!
