Hint of Autumn

Glasgow's Merchant City has been the focus of quite a few of my blips this summer. I'd have thought by now that the gorgeous floral displays would have begun to look a bit jaded. But no - they are still vibrant and blooming beautiful!
I made a composite to emphasize that the summer flowers in the Brunswick Street display - the petunias, nasturtiums and lobelias still rule. But autumn is beginning to show in the central tree in the first picture. The close-up reveals the distinct autumnal yellowing at the base of the corolla of leaves. I also liked the detail in the ornate portico with its wooden door and the dark figure outlined against the light stonework of the building.
