The favourite bit of our holiday....

according to the children, has been playing with Lyca the dog!

To carry on with my holiday update, we drove to Switzerland, travelling by ferry from Dover to Dunkirk and passing through France, Belgium and Luxembourg. After spending a couple of days in Switzerland we headed off for Italy, again by car, spending time in Rome and Florence and visiting a friend's holiday villa on the coast. Then it was back to Switzerland; driving over the Gottard pass in the Alps, late at night complete with a full moon (amazing experience and views that photos just couldn't do justice!). We've spent the last week relaxing, sleeping in late and mostly doing very little, although we did have an outing to Zurich.

Yet, out of all that, when I asked the children what has been their favourite part of the holiday they both said "playing with Lyca"! It's so often the little things that bring the most pleasure!
