Our flat got robbed this morning..

I woke up at about 5 with the baby and I had to pee, and all the living room lights were on and the back door whide open...this did not disturb me until I looked out the door and roland's little overalls were on the ground. I stared at them stupidly trying to figure that one out then I turned around and..my gray bag was gone off the door (which we use for carrying diapers and clothes, and also contained my cell phone and camera filters)

so at first I was somewhat amused that all the computers, all the electronics, the laptop, the safe, everything is untouched, all they took was a ....diaper bag?

so I didnt call anyone (husband works nights) and laid back down with roland...and as I was laying there thinking I realised that....my...camera? I turn and look on the nightstand where it sleeps and it was GONE.

okay, that pissed me off....not only did they take my camera, they took it from 12 INCHES AWAY FROM ME AND ROLAND SLEEPING AND I DID NOT WAKE UP?

on second thought I'm glad, because I dont feel violated or anything (even counting the fact that we nurse most of the night so I wasnt exactly decent) but if I had woke with someone 12 inches from my face I would have been quite hysterical. as it is I am just really angry about my camera. now I have to get a new one because I cant live without one. and the old point n shoot isnt good for much (it just like to focus or much of anything really) ...so, any recommendations on dSLRs?

damage: 4 cigarettes, 1 bottle of whiskey, one gray bag, 1 star filter, one pink cellphone, 2 diapers, a onesie, a cloth diaper, a green army bag, a lipgloss, a pair of pink sunglasses, some loose change (but not even ALL of it, just the larger denomination coins?! what was this tesco, they had their sweet time picking through things??) and my poor camera.

this feather was outside...husband says it's from the CSI (that got no prints, not that I expect anything to come of this but yeah) but I think it's an angel feather.

"no! it is NOT from the fingerprints! we got robbed by an angel! that's why they didnt wake me, they went invisible! and that's why they took the whiskey, I mean, an angel that's fallen THAT far..."
