From the boardwalk
Today has been busy, but relatively stress free (unlike yesterday).
Firstly I went with Mum for her ophthalmic review following the operation she had earlier in the year. There has been a lot of improvement and she was discharged.
Then I met 4 of the walking festival crowd at Steel Rigg. We did the pre-walk for "Oh Deer", one of our sell out walks. This is a lovely walk, entirely north of the Wall. There are super views of the Whin Sill, on which Hadrian's Wall was built. Then the countryside is wide open for miles to the north.
This photo was taken from the boardwalk over the western edge of Greenlee Lough. There are a lot of tall grasses and rushes growing; this is one. I like the colours and the softness of the grass.
After our walk we went to Maureen and Brian's to celebrate Jean's birthday today. There were 9 of us to share a lovely meal, with much excited chatter as the evening progressed.
"Time for bed..........." said Zebedee.
