Spinning Jenni

Stirling ice rink is currently closed for some major work, so we ventured out to Murrayfield ice rink this evening to let Jenni get some skating practice in.

Murrayfield is principally a hocket ice rink. The session this evening had loads of kids in unfamiliar-looking skates, but they seemed like a nice bunch - even if their games of chases looked 'way too fast to be safe :-)

Since my Plan A of finding a nice warm café and drinking coffee for the duration came to nothing, I got the camera out and tried a few pictures. I did manage to get a decent number of solid photos, but then I thought I would play for a while. I dropped the ISO right down and closed the aperture a bit, before J went into a spin... this is the result!

(For reference, a "Spinning Jenny" is a form of spinning wheel, invented in 1764, that allows yarn to be created more quickly than a traditional spinning wheel)
