MARITIME DEFENCES

Our town is justly proud of its long esplanade which has been vulnerable in recent years to damage from the powerful onslaught of the sea. Plans are afoot to protect the structure and upgrade it for the benefit of the townspeople. A start is now being made by building a natural boulder support against the existing sea-wall to allow for its extension in height and strength. This shot shows the work in progress.
