Black swan.....

We paid our first visit to The London Wetland Centre in Barnes today and it was just beautiful...weather and surroundings. The guide book says

"Looking out across the reed beds and lakes it is hard to believe you are in the heart of the capital, in a landscape that is entirely man- made. The creation of the 42 hectare wetlands on the site of former reservoirs realises the dream of WWT (Wildlife and Wetlands Trust) founder Sir Peter Scott."

I am not a twitcher but D is rather keen. However I thoroughly enjoyed the day, sitting in hides looking out over the lakes and appreciated it all. This black swan was beautiful..so graceful and serene. The feathers were just like black lace!

Then back to Waterloo and Hayes. And fish and chips for supper!
