Big Family to Feed

The walk round the pond at Brodie Castle was quiet today although it was sunny. I suppose because the children are back in school. Mummy swan hissed at poor Millie but she brought her cygnets over in the hope of food. She was not too pleased as we had nothing for them.
We had lunch at Brodie, leek and cheese risotto with peppers aubergine and courgettes, and it came with a bowl of salad. Afternoon tea was in the Hopeman Café, and I had ice cream as well with raspberry sauce.
We called in at Wester Hardmuir on our way home, for jam strawberries and we bought a huge cabbage because it said on the radio this morning to eat broccoli, sprouts, and cabbage to help with arthritis.
Mummy swan does have a large family there are 6 fluffy cygnets.
