End of the jetty
There's a quiet little patch of Batemans Bay on the north bank of the Clyde, just before the river flows under the bridge towards the sea. It is home to a few boat-hire enterprises (as well as an oyster business and an excellent seafood restaurant). At some time over the years, it seems one boat firm closed, leaving this jetty to the pelicans and cormorants. On the shore, the gate that leads on to it still bears a sign warning that it is private property and trespassers walk onto it at their peril. Indeed.
