Unidentified....any clues?

Looking out of my window this morning, as I cleaned up in the kitchen (some of my best blips are spotted from this location!) I happened to notice a rather large bird landing in the seed branches of the palm tree.

But what is it? I've searched Google, looked through every bird in my "Slater Field Guid to Australian Birds", yet still can't work out what this bird is!

I thought at first that perhaps it was a cuckoo, but there were other birds about who were not bothered by this one. Usually the smaller birds go into a frenzy of squarks if a cuckoo arrives in the area.

Any thoughts on what this strange looking bird might be would be greatly appreciated. If you look carefully (perhaps on large) you will see that it has tufts on top of its head as well.

Very unusual......
