A dreich day gets better

A dreich day in Orkney to start with but it brightened up in the afternoon.

Summer is over and the last cut of the harvest is being done.

The long straight lines look as if they were mathematically placed - much as they have been for generations. Sons and daughters take over from their fathers and mothers as the farm business continues as it was.

It's the end of summer but still time to enjoy the warm and still parts of the day.
