Leith Nights

Playing Blip catch up again. Have been seeing shows at The Fringe again so left my camera at home and I didn't take anything really interesting during the day.

I saw two shows today "The Picture of Dorian Gray" which was an all right play, well enough acted but the plot kind of glossed over the whole eternal youth and ageing portrait, which I thought was the whole point of the story!

The second show I saw was "BLAM!" which was at the Pleasance Grand venue, one of my least favourite venues, it's big but has no air conditioning and the temporary seating is horribly uncomfortable and cramp, all of which makes for an uncomfortable experience. The fact that it hosts some of the biggest shows at the Pleasance means it's also the most expensive shows! BLAM! was a show done by four guys who start the show sitting in their little office cubicles and then start enacting movie action scenes (staplers for guns and balls of paper for granades) the show builds up and up as the action gets more intense and the actors do some amazing physical stunts and build up to an incredible stunning ending.

After the shows I had a couple beers and took this snap on The Shore on my way home.
