Holme Moss Transmitter

Came over the High Peak today and stopped to look at the sheer height of this transmitter.
It's the Holme Moss station and provides the main transmission for BBC National/Local FM radio and also national DAB radio across the North of England.
It is located on a remote area of the Pennines, ten miles south of Huddersfield and just north of the West Yorkshire border with Derbyshire's Peak District.
The mast is 750 ft high and is situated 1,720 ft above sea level making this station the highest elevated main transmission site in the UK.
The buildings contain living accommodation for staff when they get 'snowed in' during the winter months :-)
It was a very difficult object to blip, but it you view it 'large' you will see a bit more detail of the various aerials and dishes that are mounted on it.
