Kyrgyzstan is this year's most bizarre holiday location.

We hadn't been wise and learnt any more Russian following how useful that would have been last year in Uzbekistan.

Therefore it was two weeks of shrugging shoulders and making ourselves understood by drawing numbers on car windows.

This was a snap in Bishkek, the capital, at the start of two brilliant weeks of adventure.
