La vida de Annie

Joe...

... a regular at Neurosupport, is a gifted wildlife artist and tireless fundraiser, walking and climbing regularly for sponsorship. A lovely bloke with a very expressive face, which belies his hearing and speech problems as a result of surviving a brain tumour.
I was chatting to a lady who like me had a subarachnoid haemorrhage and has been told she has another (unruptured) aneurysm. She is in constant fear of that "ticking time bomb" and was asking how I felt after my own bomb was defused. I was able to reassure her that it all went smoothly and I now feel much less stressed. We agreed that we were both lucky to have our bleeds in the right hemisphere, as others in the room with strokes or SAHs on the left were left paralysed in the right arm and leg, and with profound speech problems. I'm so glad that my aneurysm in the left median artery has been blocked. I count my blessings every time I enter that place.
