Garden Day

It was a funny, murky day - no sun, but no rain either. Cool temps, certainly much cooler than we've had latelyl

I haven't been sleeping well - my shoulder (the one that needs to be replaced) bothers me around 4 or so and I wake up. Sometimes I can get back to sleep, sometimes not so much. Today was a struggle unfortunately, so I was kind of tired today. But I enjoyed puttering around the courtyard, taking out my huge, mildew-y zucchini plant and generally tidying up and cutting back. I realize that I'm starting to focus on how to get ready for the surgery...or rather, life after. Thankfully it's my left shoulder, and I'm right-handed, which will make it easier. Anyway, lots to do!

This is half of my courtyard. If you were standing here, in the picture, and turned around, you'd see the other half. Maybe I'll post that half tomorrow.
I grow veggies in the blue containers at the end. The carnivorous plants are in their bog setting on the right under the window. I'm trying to grow creeping thyme in between the pavers. And the blue lanterns are solar and cast a lovely pattern in the night (see other extra.)!

And then there's the breezeway, which connects the courtyard to the driveway. Tough to take photos of that since it's so long and narrow, but I've put a shot in the extra. It has a roof, so no rain is involved :-) See extra.
