IronPigs Baseball ...
... Go Hog wild!
We have been meaning to get out to Coca-Cola Park to see the IronPigs play but hadn't bought tickets until two days ago. The IronPigs are the Triple A baseball team affiliated with the Philadelphia Phillies and play here in Allentown. We usually have a lot of fun ... and tonight was no different.
But the lead up to getting there was interesting. The reason I chose tonight to go was because they were having a promotional give-away of a rubber ducky. And you know how much I love my rubber duckies! We had planned on getting to the ball park shortly after the gates opened as there were a finite number of ducks (3,000) they were handing out. But shortly after 4:00 pm Richard read that the gates opened at 4:00 pm as last night's game was suspended due to rain and they were playing the rest of the game today before our scheduled game ... which is at 7:05 pm.
We quickly ate supper (we are too cheap to eat at the ball park $$) and got ready to go as I didn't want to risk not getting a rubber ducky. Well ... we needn't have hurried as it seems they had plenty of ducks to hand out ... we saw people arriving well past us that received one.
We still had a wonderful time ... even though the IronPigs lost the first game big time. They did win the second game ... which went into extra innings as it was a tie after the regulation nine innings. We got our money's worth at least.
Backblipped: September 6 ... got home too late to process and post.
