The Show

Jane's friend, originally from Moldova ,  came with to the Horticultural Society Show. Although she's been in Edinburgh for many years, she's never been to an event like this. It was interesting that she couldn't get her head around the idea of a competitive showing of lovely fruit and veg. She, quite reasonably,  couldn't understand why people didn't just sell their produce.

I won prize money of 60p with my potatoes getting 2nd and runner beans 3rd.  Outrageously my tomatoes weren't placed!
