Fungi

I went for a walk in Lanthwaite Wood and on my way back from 'The Beach,' which is next to the weir, I saw what looked like a 'tennis ball!  Further on was this piece of lichen.  Blip sorted.  I had gone for ideas for the next U3A topic, this may be part of that.
The weir is supposed to be dismantled, but have no idea if this is still the case.  The signs that work was going to take place have gone.  If the weir is taken down the beach will become muddy.  This is a popular place for swimmers (there were two when I was there) and I do know people have voiced concern.  One of those swimmers has previously given a talk to our  U3A.  Can any of my local Blip friends remind me of her name?
