In Monnickendam

About 40 years ago a friend of my Amsterdam brother came to the Netherlands for a year. She spent most of the time with my brother but she also stayed for some weeks at my parent's house where I still lived at the time. My mother took her sightseeing for some days and so did I on the weekends. After a year she went back. 

She stayed in touch with my brother. I reconnected with her in the early days of facebook. By that time she had a family and lived in Australia. 

This year she came to Europe with a friend. They travelled sometime and came to Amsterdam where they will embark on a cruise tomorrow. 

Thursday evening my brother and I picked them up from the main train station in Amsterdam. Today the four of us went sightseeing in two different towns near Amsterdam. As I have to work tomorrow I unfortunately couldn't stay to take them to the cruise ship tomorrow. My brother will do so. 

It was soooo good to finally meet her after so many years! It was wonderful to see her again and spend the day together.
