Hengistbury Head

Hengistbury Head is a favourite place to visit. There is a beautiful carved bench at the top of the hill, but today it was occupied by a young couple and so it will be a photo for a different day. The Needles in the distance provides a good alternative and there will be an astronomer on site on Sunday between 7.00pm and 9pm  to explain what is happening with the Lunar Eclipse which is predicted to rise from behind the Isle of Wight. The last eclipse I remember specifically watching was in a Science class with Tryfan46 in the 1960’s, that time I think it was in the afternoon and it was the Sun in eclipse.
