For Flower Friday

Everything in the garden is tilting towards autumn: leaves changing colour, quinces ripening earlier than they usually do (like so much else, after this hot summer).
I was also amazed to find an actual fruit on our white passionflower plant (extra). Sadly these are apparently only ornamental and "not to be eaten" (says the Royal Horticultural Society, who should definitely know).
Maybe we should plant a fruiting variety too, for another year.... though without winter protection, I suspect that wouldn't work.
The orange colour of the ornamental fruit is lovely in itself, however. Like a little lantern.
Thanks to everyone who left kind comments about yesterday's migraine - thankfully it has evaporated.
