St Pancras Renaissance Hotel...
After we'd checked into our hotel and walked back up to the base camp pub on the Friday afternoon we passed, for the first time, the front of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel which was the venue for the ceremony and reception party of my brother's wedding. It was a bit of a 'wow!' moment that further cemented from the other wee clues as to the tone and grandeur of day to come.
The hotel has been lain near derelict up until 2011 after being unservicable and failing fire safety regulations which plagued it in the past but has been fully and meticulously restored to the hotel containing 244 bedrooms, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, a health and leisure centre, a ballroom, and 20 meeting and function rooms.
It is a really rather impressive building, both inside and out.
Slightly related point of note, The Spice Girls filmed their first single, Wannabe.. here in 1996 and we only realised today that we a family photo done on the same stairs they danced up.
