Humming
I was out in my rather overgrown big pollinator garden this afternoon trying to grab some shots of a flitty Cabbage White Butterfly (see Extra) when I heard the distinctive humming noise. I whipped around and there it was, not 6 feet away, on the buddleja bush. No time to check settings, barely time to focus. Six quick shots. A few keepers. I like this one because, viewed in large, you can see the fine detail on the feathers on its head. There were at least 4 buzzing around today, probably just moving through.
Lots of house work this morning, then a call with my breast cancer mentee, then into town to get my hair cut. I decided to go much shorter this time - I'm just tired of fiddling with it. Don't know yet if I like it or not, but worse case scenario, it will always grow.
Hubs and I had a wonderful dinner last night, seated lakeside with a nice, gentle breeze. He had a wood-fired pizza with zucchini and tomatoes and ricotta foam and I had pasta with zucchini and a buttery sauce. I had a wonderful mocktail with herbs from their garden and we both had delicious green salads to start. It was just delightful. We have been going to this restaurant for special occasions for many years and it never disappoints. The husband is the chef and his wife runs the front of the house and they don't miss a thing.
Looking forward to shooting the blitzhund dog event this Saturday and hoping that I may finally get lucky and get an overcast day. We'll see.
xoxo
