Small Tortoiseshell

A morning of torrential rain was followed by a breezy sunny late afternoon. As soon as the sun appeared the rudbekia flowers were swarming with butterflies. I counted five Small Tortoiseshells and seven Small Coppers on just a handful of flowers.
