Bank Rage!

Went to pay off my M&S card as I do at the beginning of each month. Granted there was quite a large amount. In front of a long queue, to cut a long story short, the transaction was declined embarrassing me and the young assistant who had to tell me so. Went to the "Listening Bank"for an explanation. During the transaction I had been asked( by some one in a call centre in India) for my date of birth and the branch I used. But apparently the bank did not have my date of birth or my password. As the account was set up in 1970 pe-password this was not surprising but I am sure the original application form must have had my birthdate on. Without these two pieces of information verification was not possible so they saw fit to decline my payment.
Eventually they sorted it and I managed to keep my cool.
Phone calls made when I got home and a letter in the post.
Grrrr!!
Rant over.
