Burn Baby Burn

Evening all.

We breezed into Alnmouth for our annual pilgrimage and battle to be the best bonfire builders with a minor media celebrity in tow.

(ok its actually a volcano but the alliteration didn't work)

One of our number (not me) had been on popmaster on radio 2 and bigged up the Volcano night shenanigans on air, another of our number (that was me) shamelessly namedropped and told this to the organisers in the hope of a better pitch and the chance of a long awaited victory....

The result was mixed to say the least.

Due to the namedropping and the popmaster t-shirt we seemed to attract a lot of attention and groups of people around our little volcano, and the local rags came down to photo and chat to our celebrity.

Sadly this didn't translate into success nor a more favourable pitch from the organisers, although we did finally crack the top ten.

surely victory will be ours next time, unless, like the t shirt we remain 'one year out'!!!
