A wee pal...
Today was the day earmarked for D to play golf at Stornoway, which worked out very well as it's been the best day weather wise (no rain :-) but also the worst day for my back so I was happy not to be travelling from place to place getting in and out of the car numerous times.
Instead I enjoyed lunch of garlic king prawns and salad watching the beautiful view across Uig Bay and millions (slight exaggeration but there are LOTS) of cute bunnies bouncing about the garden of the cottage and the surrounding land.
D had left all my art materials on the dining room table so after lunch I spent a little while painting. Nothing in particular, just trying to get the colours of the land and seascape down in prep for painting seascapes once I am home again. I had to cut the session short as it was making my back pain worse.
I did enjoy watching this little bird, who seemed just as interested in watching me, as it sat there then hopped about the top of the fence for ages. Thanks to gen2 for identifying it as a Pied Wagtail :-))
D arrived back very happy having had a great round of golf. Coffee and a couple of painkillers helped ease my back pain and I enjoyed relaxing and finally starting Peter May's new book The Black Loch. Really enjoying it, especially as I know a lot of the places in the book. It really brings it to life.
It was soon time to freshen up and head to Uig Sands Restaurant for dinner. We were there two years ago and had a wonderful evening so were really looking forward to it. It didn't disappoint. Service, food, and of course the view, were all superb. And a lovely sunset as we ate.
The last time we ate here we had a journey of over an hour to get back to our holiday cottage on Harris. This time our journey was only five minutes to the other side of the bay :-)
Last full day tomorrow :-( A week really isn't long enough.
