The mountains are calling

A bright hot sunny day full of contrast. From Toulouse the slow train to the border at Latour de Carol Envietg. Where I finished two years ago so it feels quite odd to be back to restart on the last leg of this GR11 epic. After walking the last few km into Spain I picnicked by the lake in Puigcerda before checking into my hotel, leaving the rucksack and wandering off for a last bit of tourism. Extra of the town funicular; there’s also several lifts as it’s perched on a defensive site. It’s apparently the end of a terminal moraine from long ago glaciers - as I learnt from the informative town museum I visited.
